8 to Great: The Morning Routine You’ve Been Looking For

I preach about “Priming” your mind in the morning all the time on my podcast. Why? Because Priming my mind in the morning changed (and still changes!) my life for the better. Years ago I learned that my thoughts and feelings shape my real life experiences. You can also call that Law of Attraction.

Once I realized I could change my life by simply changing my thoughts and feelings, I then realized anything and everything was possible for me to experience! Pretty amazing right?! But it was going to take active practice to rewrite my beliefs. This is where “Priming” my mind in the morning came in. Priming in the morning was my time to improve my belief system to be more positive. I first learned about Priming from my mentor Tony Robbins, but I have adapted his method to my own.

Now before I go on, you might be eye rolling me when I say that just your thoughts and feelings alone can change your reality. I get it. You cannot just think good thoughts, feel good feelings and expect a Range Rover to be delivered to your door while you sit on your couch. That’s not what I’m saying. We must take action. But here is the thing. What drives you to take (or not take) action? Your thoughts and feelings! That’s where everything you do or don’t do begins. So again, changing your thoughts and feelings are the first two steps to changing anything in your life because your thoughts and feelings influence your actions.

Picture this, at 29 years old I suddenly found myself divorced after an 8 year marriage and broke as a joke. By that time, I knew enough about self development to know I could turn things around. I knew I was in the driver seat and I was responsible for how my life was. I was determined to turn things around for myself! And turn them around I did! In a very short time, I became financially thriving and in love with my now fiance, who is truly the best partner I could have ever asked for. Many other blessings came, but these were the most obvious to people on the outside looking in on my life. And it all started from me Priming my mind everyday.

Simply put, Priming is the act of actively choosing good thoughts and feelings for yourself every morning. This in turn attracts good situations to you, because you’re living at a vibrational match for good to come to you. Think of it like this, you are a magnet and your thoughts and feelings attract to you what you experience. You can experience good or bad, but you set the point of attraction all the same. One of the biggest parts of my self development journey was when I took ownership for everything in my life, good and bad. When I admitted I had brought it all to me. Once I took full ownership for my life, and I realized I was in control of my experiences, things could change any way I wanted. This is when things got really FUN! I had learned how to be in total manifesting mode and life started unfolding beautifully.

So now you might be wondering “What the heck is priming? How do I even do it?” I have one episode here that explains what it is and an episode here that explains how to do it. The truth is there is no one right way to prime your mind in the morning. Your objective with priming is simple: it’s your time to feel GOOD. Because when you FEEL good you ATTRACT good into your life, cause you’re a vibrational match for good things! Priming is your time to envision your goals, see yourself accomplishing them, give yourself your morning pep talk, set the tone for your day ahead of time, give gratitude for what you have and overall just put yourself in a GREAT state to start your day!
