Just Start

Here I am. Starting. Starting my new blog, which has been a long time in the making. Starting is the hardest part though isn’t it? Just the thoughts alone of starting something new can be so overwhelming that they paralyze you from even moving forward. The never ending to do list that comes with a new venture can be so long. And if you’re a solopreneur like myself, it might feel like it will take forever and ever to do it all. But eventually we have to choose to drown out the noise in our head and set aside self doubt and just start the thing. The good news is, once we get ourselves here to this point, everything gets easier from here. The ball starts rolling! And momentum picks up!

I should also mention though that I’m a recovering perfectionist. Which means I want to perfectly map out how this blog is going to work, what it will look like, who it will help, figure out what content people will like best, etc. I have racked my brain on what to write and what not to write about a million times. I’ve attended one to many “How to Blog” or “Create A Business from Your Blog” webinars or courses and left feeling even more overwhelmed and confused. And I finally hit a breaking point and thought ENOUGH.

Enough of the over thinking, over learning and over analyzing. The best way to figure out how to start up my blog again after a 7 year hiatus is to just START. I have been told by blog “experts” to stay in one lane and only talk about one thing so you can more quickly been seen as an expert in your field and therefore more quickly grow your blog. And they’re right. That works. But right now, in this moment, it doesn’t work for me. Cause the over thinking and over planning has me not taking any action. And I’m at the point where I would rather take some action then none. And just figure it out as I go.

So again, here I am my friends. Blogging. Figuring it out as I go. Hi! It’s so nice to be back! I’m so excited to be blogging again and see where this thing goes. But more importantly, today I want to encourage you friend to friend, to JUST START! Whatever it is you want to do, just do it. Take one small step (or big one) today towards the thing you want to do.

Sometimes we think we’re to late to the game to even begin and that simply is not true. There are no rules or timelines when it comes to your life and dreams. 6 months from now you will look back at your progress from today and be so happy you chose to set aside your self doubt and just start the “thing!” Imagine what would happen if we all stopped worrying about what could go wrong and instead started getting excited about what could go RIGHT? I choose the latter.

Today I started this blog. On a whim mind you. It wasn’t what I even had planned for the day truth be told. Which kind of supports my message even more. Just start. Show up and take action. One of my favorite quotes right now is this:

“Action is the antidote to fear.”

That’s from Marie Forleo. How good and true is that? When we take action on our dreams and visions, we drown out our fears cause our actions start producing results and our results boost our confidence in ourselves and visions even more. So today, just start. Take action. You’ll be so happy you did. I already feel better just writing this post cause I did the hardest part and finally just started. Now, the possibilities are endless.

So friend to friend, tell me, what are you going to start today?

Dwell in possibility,

Taylor
