Let’s start off today with my “What the Eff” moment of the day, followed by a trip down memory lane to my small New York City apartment over four years ago.
My significant other at the time grew up with negative beliefs about money, and I was letting these beliefs percolate and grow in my mind. Even though I didn’t grow up with these types of ideas, I was giving his beliefs the ability to affect how I thought.
Looking back, I realized that I was being a victim of my thoughts and negative beliefs about money.
I graduated from FIT, worked at Tommy Hilfiger, then wanted to start my own line of clothing, called COVE, and successfully created a Kickstarter to raise $10,000 to get COVE off the ground. I quickly learned how to be a new business owner, and through this journey, I came across my mentor Tony Robbins and watched many of his videos.
Around this time, I moved to Baltimore, Maryland. My brother had recently moved there, and I wanted to live in an area which wasn’t so costly. I would come over to my brother’s home and take his two dogs walking, listening to Tony on my walks. One morning while listening to Tony Robbins, he inspired me with his words. Tony said, “For a business to be successful, it is 80% the business owner’s psychology and only 20% the mechanics.”
This pivotal point for me changed my thought process from being a victim of my process to now waking up early every day and actively choosing my thoughts. Now I could prime my mind and create my positive belief system. Priming is a workout for your mind! Over the next few days, I created a morning routine which focused and primed my mind towards positive, healthy thinking.
Then, my divorce happened. I was left without an income and decided I was going to make COVE work. I used my priming every day at my business, even though I didn’t know what was going to happen in my near future.

Wake up early to Prime your mind: Say “thank you, thank you, thank you” as you wake up each morning, List 5 things in your life that ARE working for you and give gratitude for each of them, Do 1 thing to raise your vibration such as listening to music, podcasts, read a good book, have a cup of coffee, go for a walk, etc.
2.) Prime ALL day. Priming doesn’t stop in the morning. Stand guard of your mind and choose good thoughts ALL day.
3.) Write a love letter to your ideal client and tell them why you love serving them. Read it daily to yourself for the next 90 days and watch it transform your business.
